Aug 26, 2010· My 4jaw is mounted that way and uses a much smaller backplate. The current bolt pattern on my 3jaw is around 7" diameter. I have some 1/2" plate laying around so I guess I could use a smaller OD backplate and make an adapter or turn a blank to work. I've never cut threads before...
